The Boyz Contract Dispute: Agency Rejects Termination

The Boyz Contract Dispute: Agency Rejects Termination

Nine members of the K-pop group The Boyz, represented by the law firm Yulchon (excluding New), have notified their agency, One Hundred, of their intention to terminate their contracts. This notification was delivered on February 10th, citing “serious breaches of contract” and an “irretrievable breakdown of trust” as the reasons.

Attorney Kim Moon-hee stated that One Hundred has allegedly failed to pay the group’s earnings for all activities since July 2025 and has ignored repeated requests for settlement data, accusing the agency of neglecting basic management duties to The Boyz.

Kim further alleged that One Hundred withheld staff pay for months and failed to cover essential expenses related to The Boyz’s activities, leading the members to conclude that they could “no longer continue under such conditions.”

One Hundred has rejected these claims, stating that the demand for contract termination is “unacceptable.” The agency claims it signed The Boyz under the condition that all 11 members would work together throughout the contract period. However, they acknowledged that the arrangement deteriorated after one member left last year, making normal team activities difficult.

“Despite this situation, we have made efforts to maintain the team activities at a considerable deficit,” the agency said in a statement regarding The Boyz.

The Boyz, which debuted in 2017 under IST Entertainment (formerly Cre.ker Entertainment) and gained significant popularity with hits like “Thrill Ride” and “Maverick,” moved to One Hundred in December 2024.

The 10-member K-pop group has confirmed that its upcoming three-day concert at Seoul’s KSPO Dome from April 24th to 26th will proceed as planned.
