Seoul BTS Fan Tourism Campaign Gwanghwamun

With BTS’ highly anticipated comeback performance scheduled to take place at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21, nearby areas in central Seoul are preparing to welcome fans visiting the city. Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

The Korea Tourism Agency announced Tuesday a tourism promotion program in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ahead of the concert. This campaign aims to encourage the expected influx of international fans to explore broader tourism opportunities across Seoul and beyond.

Outdoor digital billboards around Gwanghwamun Square will display promotional videos showcasing the best of Korean tourism, while a large welcome banner for BTS fans will be prominently displayed on the exterior of Seoul’s government complex building. Welcome, Army!

Near Gwanghwamun Station on Subway Line No. 5, Exit No. 6, a special promotional booth will be set up in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency on the day of the event to share exciting Korean content and essential travel information. Look forward to interactive experiences and exclusive commemorative gifts.

HiKR Ground, an immersive experiential tourism space located in the Korea Tourism Organization Seoul Center, will be transformed with purple décor, the iconic color of BTS and their dedicated fandom, Army. This unique venue, blending K-pop culture and regional travel content, will host engaging events like dance classes set to BTS music and thrilling singing contests.

HiKR Ground will extend its operating hours until midnight on the day of the concert to accommodate visiting fans. Essential amenities like restrooms, mobile phone charging stations, and complimentary Wi-Fi will be readily available.

Extensive online promotional campaigns will be launched through VisitKorea, KTO’s official website designed for international travelers. One highlight will be a special online feature showcasing filming locations from iconic BTS music videos, alongside tourist attractions conveniently located near the concert venue. Through the travel platform Nol World, international visitors can access exclusive discounts on tourism and cultural experience packages, making their trip even more memorable.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable concert experience, multilingual information services will be enhanced. The tourism hotline 1330 and tourist information centers across the city will provide assistance with transportation, late-night travel options, and nearby medical facilities, ensuring all visitors are well-supported.

BTS’ comeback performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be broadcast worldwide exclusively on Netflix. The event will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, renowned for directing the Super Bowl halftime show nearly every year since 2010 and having worked with global icons like Beyonce, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Usher. This highly anticipated live comeback show is expected to draw an impressive crowd of up to 260,000 people, including the 15,000 fortunate fans who secured official tickets. Don’t miss it!
