Seoul is set to celebrate BTS’ highly anticipated comeback and their new album with “BTS The City Arirang Seoul,” a month-long extravaganza featuring large-scale public events and immersive fan experiences across the city’s iconic landmarks.
Detailed plans for “BTS The City Arirang Seoul” were revealed Monday via the group’s global fan platform, Weverse. The festival will run from March 20, coinciding with the album’s release, through April 19.
Several spectacular events are planned for the album launch day. Starting at 7 p.m., media facade displays will illuminate historic sites, including the iconic N Seoul Tower and Sungnyemun, one of Seoul’s historic Four Great Gates. Later that evening, a breathtaking 15-minute drone light show will light up the night sky above Ttukseom Hangang Park, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The celebrations will also extend to Gwanghwamun Square, where massive outdoor screens will broadcast comeback-related content from 7 p.m. on March 20 until midnight the following day.
Fans can look forward to music-synchronized light shows choreographed to the group’s new songs at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) and the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain.
ARMYs will have ample opportunity to participate in interactive programs. A citywide “stamp rally” will invite visitors to collect commemorative stamps at key locations, including Yeouido Hangang Park, DDP, and Shinsegae Square.
From March 20-22, Yeouido Hangang Park will transform into the “Love Song Lounge,” offering a dedicated space for music listening, busking performances, and engaging photo zones.
Additional installations will be unveiled later in the program, including the “DDP Army Madang” exhibition space running from April 6-12 and the “Love Quarter” media program along Cheonggyecheon Stream and near Yongsan Station.
The festival is a collaborative effort between the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Hybe, and numerous other partners. Organizers emphasized that the project also involves partnerships with companies across various sectors, including mobility, hospitality, finance, and food, to create an enhanced and memorable visitor experience. Following its Seoul debut, the project is expected to expand to major cities worldwide.
Supporting partners include Photoism, Samsung, Shinsegae, Kakao T, Seoul City Tour Bus, Paradise City, JW Marriott Hotel, The Westin Josun Seoul, Seoul Dragon City, Compose Coffee, Artisee, Cuchara, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Cheonggiwa Town.
