BTS’s V continues to prove his “sold-out king” status with his individual version of the LP, ‘VELVET RED’, experiencing repeated sell-out phenomena worldwide.
BTS is set to release their 5th full-length album ‘ARIRANG’ on March 20th. Individual member LP (vinyl) versions are also available for purchase, with pre-orders beginning after the announcement in January.
V’s ‘VELVET RED’ LP album was the first among the members to sell out at Target, a major US retail store. After restocking, it sold out again immediately, setting a record for the fastest sell-out in both the first and second rounds, demonstrating his powerful fanbase.
Simultaneously with Target, it also sold out immediately upon release at the Weverse US Shop, available only to US fans. It has since experienced multiple sell-outs and restocks, and is currently sold out again.

On Amazon Japan, it was the only member LP to enter both the ‘Bestseller’ and ‘Hot New Releases’ categories, recording the highest number of pre-orders. At Rakuten’s Good&Music in Japan, it sold out despite being priced the highest among all versions sold. It is also recording the highest sales volume across various vendors on Qoo10.
Although individual member LPs are not sold in Korea, it topped the daily sales rankings on a Naver Smart Store that directly imports overseas albums. The ‘VELVET RED’ version LP recorded the highest sales volume in the weekly chart, which compiles weekly sales, with only one day of pre-sales, reaffirming the reputation of the “V Effect” where anything V touches sells out in Korea, the US, and Japan.
Meanwhile, Netflix has released a teaser video featuring V for ‘BTS Comeback Live | ARIRANG’, which will be released on March 21st. The video, showing V saying “6 DAYS” with a tense voice, reached 10 million views in 8 hours, reflecting the high anticipation for BTS’s comeback. #BTS #V #ARIRANG #VelvetRed #SoldOutKing #Vinyl #LP #Comeback #Netflix
