ENHYPEN’s Heeseung Announces Solo Debut, Leaving Fans in Uproar.

ENHYPEN’s Heeseung is embarking on a solo career, leaving the group and sparking significant reaction from their fanbase. Belift Lab, the group’s agency, announced on March 10th that “ENHYPEN has been considering their future direction and goals. After in-depth discussions about each member’s aspirations and the group’s path, we confirmed Heeseung’s distinct musical inclinations and decided to respect his decision.” Consequently, Heeseung will leave the group to pursue a solo career, and ENHYPEN will continue as a six-member group.

Heeseung debuted as an ENHYPEN member in 2020 through the Mnet survival show ‘I-LAND’. ENHYPEN has enjoyed a successful career, releasing hit songs such as ‘Bite Me’, ‘Polaroid Love’, and ‘Fever’. Notably, their second full-length album, ‘ROMANCE : UNTOLD,’ achieved triple million-seller status last year, and they received grand prize trophies at major award ceremonies.

Despite being poised for continued success as a group recognized with major awards only six years after their debut, Heeseung’s sudden announcement of his departure has shocked fans.

In a handwritten letter, Heeseung stated, “The past six years have been filled with overwhelming and precious moments that I cannot express in words. It will be one of the shining moments that I will never forget in my life.” He continued, “I have been sharing the results of my work with the company and discussing with many people for a long time about how best to present it. After a long period of deliberation, I have made a big decision to approach ENGENEs (fandom name) in a better light, following the direction proposed by the company.”

He added, “I am well aware of your concerns and stories. I will work hard to meet you again as soon as possible. My desire to present a better version of myself is sincere. I will keep the great love that ENGENEs have given me in my heart and keep running forward.”

Following the announcement, the remaining six ENHYPEN members also took to official social media to reassure fans. They stated, “We think you must have been very surprised by today’s announcement. We were most worried about how ENGENEs would feel. ENHYPEN exists for ENGENEs, so seeing ENGENEs worry and struggle is the greatest pain for us.”

They also added, “We respect and support Heeseung hyung’s choice and his new beginning. We will become a stronger and more proud ENHYPEN, always grateful for every moment, to our precious ENGENEs who always support and cheer us on.”
