Blackpink’s highly anticipated third EP, “Deadline,” has made a strong debut on the Billboard 200 chart, landing at No. 8, according to the chart preview released Sunday in the US. This impressive feat solidifies Blackpink’s position as a global K-pop powerhouse.
This mini album marks Blackpink’s first new release in nearly 3 1/2 years, following the success of their second album, “Born Pink,” which topped the Billboard 200. Blackpink has consistently achieved success on this chart, with all of their albums securing notable positions: their first EP, “Square Up,” peaked at No. 40; the second EP, “Kill This Love,” reached No. 24; and their first LP, “The Album,” climbed to No. 2.
“Deadline” has also topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 38 regions globally and entered the UK’s Official Albums Top 100 at No. 11. The lead single, “Go,” entered the Singles Top 100 at No. 44. Music industry experts predict that “Go” is likely to secure a spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, mirroring the success of the prerelease track, “Jump,” which reached No. 28 last year. “Jump” notably spent 10 weeks on the main songs chart, marking the group’s longest run on the chart to date. Blackpink’s continued success demonstrates their global appeal and influence within the K-pop and music industries. #Blackpink #Deadline #Billboard200 #Kpop #YGEntertainment
