Global sensation BLACKPINK’s latest EP, “Deadline,” has made a strong debut on the Billboard 200, according to an announcement made by Billboard on Sunday (U.S. time). The EP secured a spot on the chart with 52,000 equivalent album units.
“Deadline” marks the highly anticipated return of the full K-pop quartet after a three-year and five-month hiatus, following their second studio album, “Born Pink,” released in 2022.
The Billboard 200 is a prestigious chart that ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States, based on equivalent album units. These units are calculated by combining physical album sales, track equivalent albums, and streaming equivalent albums.
Of the 52,000 equivalent album units earned by “Deadline,” a significant 41,000 originated from physical album sales, demonstrating the group’s strong fanbase and continued appeal.
This week’s Billboard 200 was topped by “The Romantic,” the first studio album in a decade from global pop star Bruno Mars.
