SHINee’s Taemin has officially parted ways with Big Planet Made Entertainment (BPM), the agency confirmed on Tuesday. This marks the end of their exclusive contract.
While BPM only stated the contract’s termination, reports from local media suggest Taemin actively sought the revocation of the agreement. He joined BPM less than two years ago, following his departure from SM Entertainment after a 16-year tenure.
Further reports allege Taemin has been supplementing staff salaries with his own funds, fueling rumors that the agency owes him over 1 billion won (approximately $694,000 USD).
Despite the agency situation, Taemin is scheduled to make his highly anticipated Coachella debut in April, performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. This appearance makes him the first K-pop male solo artist to grace the Coachella stage.
