BTS’s Jungkook shines as a global fashion icon, named one of the ’50 Most Stylish Male Musicians’.
Jungkook ranked 11th on ‘Esquire’ magazine’s list of ‘The 50 Most Stylish Musicians’.
The magazine introduced Jungkook, stating that “He distinguished himself from his peers with the huge success of his first solo debut album ‘GOLDEN’ in 2023.”
It continued, “His prominence in the K-pop world is not only due to his musical activities,” adding, “He showcases bold styles far removed from existing idols, from lip and multiple piercings to tattoos covering his entire right arm,” emphasizing Jungkook’s distinct and self-directed style.
The publication explained, “His fashion sense possesses a unique attitude and free-spirited mindset, boldly mixing and matching Western haute couture with Asian street fashion.”
Furthermore, “He has been active as an ambassador for Calvin Klein since 2023, and through these activities, he has secured a huge international fan base,” and “Every fashion choice, post, and pictorial of his has a great influence on over 50 million Instagram followers. Due to the phenomenon of every item he wears selling out instantly, he has even earned the nickname ‘Sold Out King’,” highlighting Jungkook’s immense influence as a reason for his selection.
The magazine also raved, “Jungkook is literally, truly Golden.”
Last September, Jungkook caused a sensation by attending the ‘New York Fashion Week’ (NYFW) 2026 S/S season. His first time attending Fashion Week, a single Instagram post featuring his arrival at the event generated $825,000 (approximately ₩1.15 billion at the time) in media exposure value.
An analysis of 150 influencers and celebrities attending New York Fashion Week revealed that Jungkook was the most mentioned person on social media, recording a mention rate of 55.09%. This was more than double that of second place (24.60%).
Additionally, over 1.3 million posts were generated on social media ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on September 13, the day Jungkook attended. He showed explosive topicality and ripple effect, rising to become the ‘Most Mentioned Musician’.
The outfits and fashion items that Jungkook wore in his personal live broadcasts, selfies, pictorials, advertisements, and concerts have led to order surges and sell-out situations, drawing attention as a ‘blue chip in the fashion industry.’
In particular, when Jungkook wore ‘Hanbok’ (Korean traditional clothing) as his airport fashion, the online shopping mall site of the product crashed, and sales increased 10 times more than usual. This led to a global boom in Hanbok, with increased overseas orders and purchases from younger generations.
Jungkook has proven his immense influence in both fashion and music, once again demonstrating his presence as a global artist.
