NCT Wish: 3rd Japan Single, Oricon Chart-Topping
NCT Wish (SM Entertainment)

K-pop sensation NCT Wish has once again demonstrated their strong presence in the Japanese music market, with their third Japanese single soaring to the number one position on Oricon’s Daily Single Ranking. SM Entertainment confirmed this impressive achievement on Monday, highlighting the group’s consistent success.

This latest triumph for the physical single, titled “Yo-i-don!/Boy Meets Girl,” echoes the success of NCT Wish’s debut Japanese EP, ‘Wishlist,’ which also topped the prestigious Oricon daily chart for two consecutive days back in January. This consistent chart performance solidifies the group’s growing popularity and impact in the region.

NCT Wish, a dynamic six-member subunit, officially launched their highly anticipated third single last week, accompanying the release with an exciting showcase event held in Tokyo. The live event featured legendary Japanese artist DJ Koo from TRF, famous for singing the original 1994 mega-hit ‘Boy Meets Girl’ – one of the two key tracks on the new single – as its esteemed emcee. Prior to the full album drop, the track ‘Yo-i-don!’ was pre-released, captivating fans with its official music video.

A significant aspect of NCT Wish’s appeal in the region is its unique composition, with four of the six members hailing from Japan, fostering a strong connection with local fans. Since their official debut in 2023, the K-pop group has been incredibly active, releasing a total of three physical singles, one studio album, and a mini album within the Japanese market, showcasing their dedication and prolific musical journey.
