Seventeen years after its original release by K-Pop group KARA, the iconic hit ‘Pretty Girl’ is back on stage, newly reinterpreted with the fresh voices of the group Rescene.
KARA originally released their second mini-album, ‘Pretty Girl,’ in December 2008. The title track, also called ‘Pretty Girl,’ quickly became a beloved teen-pop anthem, renowned for its upbeat melody and bright, feel-good vibe.
The song’s confident lyrics, such as “Walk proudly everywhere,” its incredibly catchy chorus (“Girl, Pretty Girl, Pretty Girl”), and its adorable signature choreography became a sensation. For years following its release, ‘Pretty Girl’ remained a fan favorite and a definitive hit for KARA.

Fast forward seventeen years to 2026, and ‘Pretty Girl’ has once again captivated audiences, reimagined by the rising group Rescene.
Rescene officially released their highly anticipated remake single ‘Pretty Girl’ on the 8th. This new version successfully preserves the original’s bright and charming essence while infusing it with a refreshing arrangement and Rescene’s distinct musical color.
‘Pretty Girl’ holds immense special significance for Rescene, as it brought them their first-ever music show victory just two years after their debut.
On the 14th, Rescene proudly accepted the first-place trophy on SBS Life’s ‘The Show,’ an emotional moment where the members teared up while expressing heartfelt thanks to their dedicated fans.
Adding to the excitement, a highly anticipated collaboration between Rescene and KARA’s Nicole, an original member, became a major talking point. Nicole made a surprise appearance on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ on the 9th, joining Rescene for a special joint performance of ‘Pretty Girl.’ This generational collaboration, featuring the artist who originally brought the song to life 17 years ago and the junior group now continuing its story, held profound significance for K-Pop fans.
The vibrant, uplifting energy of ‘Pretty Girl,’ originally brought to life by KARA, continues its legacy, now reaching and inspiring a new generation of K-Pop fans through Rescene.
