The music video for ‘NORMAL’, a track from BTS’s 5th full-length album ‘ARIRANG’, will be exclusively released on Spotify on the 17th at 1 PM KST.
Big Hit Music announced on the 16th that a total of three new audio tracks, including the Korean version and instrumental version of ‘NORMAL’, will be released simultaneously with the music video.
Earlier on the same day at midnight KST, BTS surprised music fans by dropping a teaser for the ‘NORMAL’ music video on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel. The video, set in the highly private space of a bathroom, candidly shows RM navigating between members who are lined up with their backs turned. This glimpse into the raw, honest, and human side of BTS, existing behind their glamorous stage personas, is sparking considerable curiosity.
This confirms that the photo which went viral and adorned the pages of the San Francisco Chronicle and New York Post newspapers on the 14th (local time) was a scene from the ‘NORMAL’ music video. The advertisement, mimicking a sensational news headline, included the phrase, “Some have questioned whether the situation was entirely normal.”
Released in March as part of BTS’s 5th full-length album ‘ARIRANG’, ‘NORMAL’ is an alternative pop track that delves into the ordinary daily lives and thoughts of the seven members. This song, with its powerful drum kicks and snare sounds, has garnered significant love from music fans, entering the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 41 on April 4th. Critics have praised the members’ calm yet powerful vocals and the conversational singing-rap style for delivering the song’s message with exceptional clarity.
‘ARIRANG’ topped the Billboard 200 chart for three consecutive weeks and then re-entered at No. 25 on July 18th. The title track ‘SWIM’ also ranked No. 84 on the Hot 100 chart, successfully charting for 16 consecutive weeks. A total of five tracks, including the new song ‘Come Over’, remained on the Billboard ‘Global 200’, while ten tracks held their positions on the ‘Global (Excl. US)’ chart.
