BTS’s Jungkook topped the ‘BEST KPOP VOCALIST 2026’ poll on the global fan voting site ‘Shining Awards’, showcasing his immense popularity.
Jungkook secured first place with 3,370,158 votes (42.56%) after a close contest with the second-place contender. Stray Kids’ Seungmin ranked second, BLACKPINK’s Rosé third, Hearts2Hearts’ Carmen fourth, and Cortis’ Seonghyun fifth.
The organizers explained, “One of the most important factors K-pop fans resonate with each year is the focus on ‘voice.’ In the K-pop market, versatility has become more crucial than ever.” They further emphasized the role of vocalists, stating, “Vocalists play a core role in group music and identity, demonstrating emotional delivery, stage presence, and the ability to infuse songs with individuality.”
Jungkook has showcased his vocals in group songs, solo tracks, and cover songs, consistently delivering powerful live performances. He has also stated that he believes his vocal skills are still lacking, continuously dedicating himself to practice.
World-renowned musical actress Lea Salonga posted on social media, “Jungkook is one of the remarkable musicians with perfect pitch.” Charlie Puth also praised him after their collaboration, saying, “Jungkook has perfect pitch. He is a very talented person. His vocals were astonishingly perfect.”
Jungkook was uniquely selected as the ‘first’ and ‘only’ Korean male singer on Rolling Stone’s ‘200 Greatest Singers of All Time’ list. He also topped Billboard’s ‘The 2024 Billboard K-Pop Artist 100’ list and was named ‘Best Pop Star of 2023’ by the acclaimed American music media outlet.
