Singer Park Seo-jin’s Seoul encore concerts, part of his national tour, have been canceled. This cancellation comes as a direct result of the prolonged protests blocking ballot counting stations, which were sparked by a shortage of ballot papers during the June 3rd local election.
On the 22nd, Park Seo-jin’s agency, Janggu’s Shin Entertainment, announced, “Park Seo-jin’s national tour Seoul encore concerts, originally scheduled for July 4th and July 5th at Jamsil Handball Gymnasium, have been unavoidably canceled.”
The agency explained, “We conducted a comprehensive review for holding the concerts and carefully considered alternatives such as venue changes and schedule adjustments. However, after thoroughly assessing the concert operations, overall conditions, and the systemic difficulties in rescheduling, we concluded that it would be challenging to proceed with the concerts as planned, leading to this unavoidable cancellation.”
They further added, “We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this causes to all the fans who have been eagerly awaiting and supporting the concerts. We explored every possible option until the very last moment to uphold our promise to our audience, and we kindly ask for your understanding that this was an unavoidable decision.”
Park Seo-jin’s decision to cancel the concerts is understood to be a consequence of the ongoing protests in the vicinity of the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. These demonstrations have persisted in response to the ballot paper shortage issue that occurred during the 9th National Simultaneous Local Election held on June 3rd, leading to the blocking of ballot counting facilities.
