Get ready to experience authentic Bavarian culture in the heart of Seoul! This September, a grand Oktoberfest celebration, directly modeled on Munich’s world-famous beer festival, will bring the vibrant spirit of Germany, its traditional food, and lively music to the Korean capital.
Deutsche Oktoberfest Korea announced Wednesday a significant milestone: the city of Munich has officially granted the use of the name “Oktoberfest Seoul.” This crucial recognition establishes the event as an authentic cultural festival, truly inspired by Germany’s cherished tradition, paving the way for a memorable experience.
Mark your calendars! Organizers confirm that Oktoberfest Seoul 2026 will enchant visitors for 10 festive days, from September 11th to 20th. The unique Oil Tank Culture Park in western Seoul will serve as the vibrant venue for this much-anticipated German-inspired festival.
This genuine German-inspired festival promises an unparalleled cultural immersion. Attendees can savor authentic Oktoberfest beers, including the renowned Paulaner, paired with traditional Bavarian delicacies like hearty Schweinshaxe and classic Weisswurst. The festive ambiance will be further enhanced by lively German folk music performances, dynamic live bands, and engaging interactive cultural programs, all designed to perfectly replicate the joyous spirit of Munich’s famous annual celebration.
“I hope Oktoberfest Seoul 2026 will provide Seoul residents and visitors with a meaningful opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of German culture and further strengthen the friendship between Germany and Korea,” said Georg Schmidt, Germany’s ambassador to South Korea.
The inspiration for this grand event, Munich’s original Oktoberfest, boasts a rich history dating back to 1810. It remains one of the world’s largest and most beloved folk festivals, drawing millions of global visitors each year.
Organizers envision Oktoberfest Seoul 2026 as more than just a recreation; it aims to pioneer a new model for global cultural events. By seamlessly blending cherished German heritage with Seoul’s vibrant cultural assets, the festival will offer a truly unique and enriching experience for all.
