Nucky Fang, General Manager of Tencent Cloud International, highlighted South Korea’s pivotal role, stating, “Korea stands as a benchmark market for Tencent Cloud across the Asia-Pacific region.”
Fang emphasized a collaborative partnership model, noting, “We view this not as one entity serving another, but as a mutual partnership fostering collective growth.”
Korea’s strong foundation in gaming, manufacturing, and media sectors firmly positions it as a critical market for Tencent Cloud’s global business endeavors. While historically a pathway for Korean firms entering China, Tencent Cloud’s updated strategy transcends this singular focus.
He affirmed Tencent Cloud’s expansive global reach: “Our expertise extends far beyond China. With 66 availability zones spanning 23 regions worldwide, we actively support numerous Korean game companies in their global operations and publishing ventures.”
Heo Jeong-pil, Country Manager for Tencent Cloud Korea, explained that Korean enterprises frequently select Tencent Cloud due to its proven track record and extensive experience in operating services across diverse international markets.
Heo highlighted key differentiators: “Our portfolio includes specialized products for gaming, robust security services for hacking prevention, and advanced network services ensuring ultra-low latency global communication. These capabilities make Tencent Cloud the preferred choice for Korean customers seeking seamless global service delivery.”
Nonetheless, for businesses specifically targeting the Chinese market, Tencent Cloud maintains a significant competitive advantage.

Moving beyond its established leadership in gaming and streaming media, Tencent Cloud is strategically expanding its offerings into crucial sectors like e-commerce, enterprise software solutions, and cutting-edge AI-driven content creation.
Artificial intelligence is also rapidly solidifying its position as a central pillar of Tencent Cloud’s strategic focus in Korea.
Fang observed a shifting paradigm: “Both Korean and Chinese companies are evolving their understanding and adoption of AI technologies. We’re witnessing increased AI utilization across both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) markets by a growing number of clients and collaborators.”
These insights were shared as Tencent Cloud introduced new strategic partnerships and its comprehensive global AI agent portfolio at the recent Tencent Cloud Day Korea 2026 event.
Key collaborations were announced with GS Neotek, ESTsoft, I Hate Flying Bugs, the Korea Management Association, and Aptos Labs. Furthermore, Tencent Cloud unveiled innovative AI products such as Miora, an AI-powered creative studio; TokenHub, a robust gateway for diverse AI model access; WAND, an advanced media workflow platform; and WorkBuddy, an intelligent AI productivity agent.
Heo reiterated Tencent Cloud’s strong optimism for the Korean market, outlining plans to significantly broaden its focus beyond traditional gaming and media sectors.
He clarified, “While gaming and OTT streaming will undeniably remain crucial areas, we are actively expanding our collaborations into the commerce and established enterprise sectors.”
He concluded by highlighting emerging opportunities: “Significant potential lies within fostering local partnerships across Korea and advancing in the realm of video-generation AI technology.”
