BTS’s critically acclaimed album ‘ARIRANG’ has remarkably maintained a spot in the Top 3 on Spotify’s Weekly Global Album Chart for an impressive 10 consecutive weeks, showcasing the K-Pop sensation’s enduring global appeal.
According to Spotify, BTS’s 5th full-length album, ‘ARIRANG,’ solidified its position at No. 2 on the ‘Weekly Top Album Global’ chart (charting period: May 22-28), holding steady from the previous week. The album’s compelling title track, ‘SWIM,’ ascended to No. 4 on the ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ chart. Furthermore, all 12 tracks from the new release have consistently featured on the charts for 10 weeks. ‘SWIM’ also secured the No. 3 spot on the ‘Daily Top Song Global’ chart on May 28th. On that particular day, BTS emerged as the artist with the most tracks on the chart, boasting an impressive 13 songs within the rankings.
Adding to their accolades, ‘ARIRANG’ achieved ‘Gold’ certification from the British Recorded Music Industry (BPI) ‘BRIT Certified’ albums on May 29th (local time), signifying over 100,000 units sold. This marks a significant milestone as the group’s 11th such certification overall and their fastest ever, accomplished in approximately two months since its release. ‘BRIT Certified’ is recognized as the leading local program for authenticating the commercial success of music albums and videos.
The new album continued its impressive run, securing the 38th position on the UK Official Chart’s ‘Official Album Top 100’ (charting period: May 29 – June 4), as announced on May 30th. Notably, the album saw remarkable surges across various detailed charts. ‘SWIM’ made a stunning leap of 39 places to No. 34 on ‘Official Single Downloads’ and climbed 36 spots from the previous week to land at No. 37 on ‘Official Single Sales’. Furthermore, ‘ARIRANG’ reached No. 18 on ‘Scottish Albums’ and No. 19 on ‘Official Physical Albums.’ The album also successfully entered the ‘Official Album Streaming’ chart at No. 50 and the ‘Official Vinyl Album’ chart at No. 30.
In Germany, ‘ARIRANG’ demonstrated its consistent strength, climbing two spots from the previous week to No. 3 on the Offizielle Deutsche Charts’ ‘Top 100 Albums’ (May 29th), extending its incredible run in the Top 10 for 10 consecutive weeks. Down Under, the album rose four places to No. 8 on Australia’s ARIA ‘Top 50 Albums’ (June 1st) and secured the No. 16 position on the ‘Top 20 Vinyl Albums’ chart.
Meanwhile, BTS celebrated another monumental achievement on May 25th, clinching the coveted ‘Artist of the Year’ award at the ‘American Music Awards’ (AMA), one of the three major popular music awards in the United States. As they conclude their successful ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN NORTH AMERICA’ journey, the group is set to return to South Korea for highly anticipated performances in Busan on June 12-13.
