Singer Jung Dong-won’s agency has announced strong legal action against defamation, the spread of false information, and malicious rumors.
On the 29th, Jung Dong-won’s agency, Showplay Entertainment, issued an official statement, declaring, “Beyond simply creating malicious posts, we have continuously observed actions hindering the artist’s activities. These include impersonating fans to spread baseless information, distorting and exaggerating specific situations to incite negative public opinion, instigating internal conflicts within the fandom, and even causing harm to our partners.”
The agency further stated, “We are gravely aware of activities that outwardly appear as typical fan engagements but are, in reality, aimed at damaging the artist’s image or creating chaos within the fandom. Furthermore, we are continuously collecting relevant data and proceeding with legal review and action against cases where individuals impersonate or are mistaken for the artist’s representatives or affiliates without our prior consent or authorization.”
Showplay Entertainment emphasized, “Protecting the artist’s rights and interests is our utmost priority. Moving forward, we will continue with strict legal action without any leniency or settlement against the dissemination of false information, defamation, malicious slander, the creation and spread of rumors, as well as impersonating fans or instigating conflicts within the fandom.”
Meanwhile, Jung Dong-won enlisted in the Marine Corps as an active-duty soldier last February and is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service.

These include individuals impersonating fans to spread entirely unfounded content, distorting and exaggerating specific situations to manipulate negative public opinion, fostering internal conflicts within the fandom, and even causing damage to our partner companies.
In particular, we are acutely aware of activities that, while appearing to be typical fan engagement externally, are actually intended to harm the artist’s image or create disorder within the fandom.
Furthermore, we are continuously gathering related evidence and are in the process of legal review and taking action against instances where individuals impersonate or are mistaken for the artist’s representatives or affiliates without our prior consent or authorization.
Our utmost priority is the protection of our artist’s rights and interests.
