Black Label Closes Series B Funding to Fuel Global Growth

Tencent Music Entertainment and Krafton join as strategic investors

Teddy Park, founder and executive producer of The Black Label (The Black Label)

The Black Label, led by esteemed producer Teddy Park, announced Tuesday that it had successfully completed its Series B funding round on May 20.

Key strategic investors in this latest round included Tencent Music Entertainment, the China-based operator of prominent music platforms such as QQ Music and Kugou Music, and Krafton, the South Korean game publisher renowned for PUBG: Battlegrounds.

The Series B investment round totaled 120 billion won (approximately $79.8 million USD), elevating The Black Label’s post-investment valuation to an impressive 1 trillion won. Existing shareholders, including early investor Saehan Venture Capital, also reportedly participated in the follow-up investment, signaling strong confidence in the company’s long-term growth potential.

“The Series B investment will serve as a robust foundation for The Black Label to significantly strengthen its capabilities and evolve into a comprehensive entertainment company leading the global market,” stated Jung Kyung-in, CEO of The Black Label.

The company attributed its accelerated growth to its exceptional artist lineup and its proven ability to develop new intellectual property. Under the creative direction of Teddy Park — who previously shaped global K-pop phenomena including Big Bang, 2NE1, and Blackpink — The Black Label is currently home to acclaimed artists such as Rose, Taeyang, and Jeon Somi, alongside talented actors Park Bo-gum and Yim Si-wan.

The Black Label also highlighted the successful launches of its new girl group Meovv in 2024 and co-ed group AllDay Project in 2025 as clear evidence of its continuous ability to discover, nurture, and develop rookie artists with global appeal.

Further demonstrating its growing influence in the global music market, The Black Label notably oversaw the production of the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack. Its hit track “Golden” garnered major international attention and critical acclaim following its wins at the Grammy Awards, Academy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards earlier this year.

The company’s financial growth trajectory has also seen remarkable acceleration. Revenue steadily rose from 39.3 billion won in 2023 to 42.3 billion won in 2024, before experiencing a significant jump to 73.8 billion won in 2025.

The Black Label anticipates significant strategic synergies with its new investors as it embarks on further global expansion. Through its partnership with Tencent Music Entertainment, the company plans to fortify its presence across Asian and broader global music and concert markets. Meanwhile, collaboration with Krafton is expected to pave the way for innovative new content businesses, seamlessly spanning music, video production, and gaming.
