The acclaimed song “Golden,” from the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack, has secured the top honor at this year’s American Music Awards (AMAs). Performed by Korean American artists Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the track was announced as the winner at a star-studded ceremony held Monday in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
In a competitive field, “Golden” triumphed over nine other formidable nominees, including “The Fate of Ophelia” by global superstar Taylor Swift, to claim the prestigious award.
Accepting the award on stage, Ejae expressed profound gratitude, stating, “Truly, like this movie, this song is fueled by the fans. You guys filled the Honmoon.” She extended her appreciation to the dedicated fanbase and the entire “KPop Demon Hunters” team, adding, “Thank you to Rei. Happy birthday.”
Rei Ami echoed these sentiments, sharing, “Thank you to our friends, family and teams and our incredible ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ family for a life-changing year.”
Audrey Nuna, the third member of the celebrated trio, was unable to attend the Las Vegas ceremony.
Co-written by Ejae, “Golden” has demonstrated extraordinary chart dominance, topping the coveted Billboard Hot 100 for eight non-consecutive weeks and leading the British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for an impressive 10 nonconsecutive weeks. The accompanying soundtrack album also achieved significant success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
This AMA victory adds to an already stellar collection of accolades for “Golden,” which previously garnered major awards at prestigious global ceremonies including the Grammy Awards, the Academy Awards, and the Golden Globe Awards.
