CORTIS Nears 12 Million Monthly Spotify Listeners, Joins K-Pop Boy Group Top 4 Ranks
K-pop sensation CORTIS continues to shine globally, setting a new record as the longest-charting K-pop boy group to debut within the last five years on Spotify’s global charts.
The title track ‘REDRED’ from CORTIS’s 2nd mini-album secured the 115th spot on the ‘Weekly Top Songs Global’ chart for the period of May 15-21, marking its fourth consecutive week in the rankings. On the ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart dated May 21, the track rose to 108th place, with its personal best being 36th on May 4. ‘REDRED’ also dominated the ‘Daily Top Songs Korea’ chart, holding the No. 1 position for 24 days.
As of May 21, CORTIS’s monthly listeners on Spotify reached an impressive 11.99 million. This phenomenal achievement places them 4th among all-time K-pop boy groups in terms of peak monthly listeners, following iconic acts like BTS. Their monthly listener count had previously surpassed the record of 8.37 million from their 1st mini-album era, reaching approximately 8.40 million on April 29, and has continued its remarkable upward trend since.
CORTIS’s 2nd mini-album, ‘GREENGREEN,’ also made its mark on international charts, charting at 30th on the UK Official Charts’ ‘Official Hip Hop & R&B Albums’ for May 22-28, a position it held for two consecutive weeks. In the US, the album hit No. 3 on Billboard’s ‘Billboard 200’ and claimed the No. 1 spot on ‘Top Album Sales’ on May 23. Furthermore, on Billboard Japan’s tally for May 11-17, ‘GREENGREEN’ reached 85th on the ‘Japan Hot 100’ and 60th on ‘Hot Albums.’
Fans can look forward to CORTIS’s upcoming performances: ‘ACAI’ will be showcased on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ on the 23rd, followed by both ‘ACAI’ and ‘YOUNGCREATORCREW’ on SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’ on the 24th. The ‘YOUNGCREATORCREW’ stage will be a highly anticipated first for domestic music broadcasts. This track previously generated significant buzz after its pre-release performance as a headliner at the ‘NBA Crossover Concert Series’ in the US back in February.
