Global K-Pop phenomenon BTS continues to demonstrate their immense power as their album ‘ARIRANG’ secures a spot within the ‘Top 3’ on Spotify’s weekly album chart for an impressive nine consecutive weeks.
According to the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify, BTS’s 5th full-length album, ‘ARIRANG’, achieved the No. 2 position on the ‘Weekly Top Album Global’ chart during the tracking period of May 15th to May 21st. Furthermore, its compelling title track, ‘SWIM’, ranked 4th on the ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ chart, with all 12 vocal tracks from the new album successfully charting for the ninth consecutive week, solidifying their consistent global appeal.
The album’s blockbuster success extended to the UK Official Charts, where ‘ARIRANG’ maintained its strong performance for the ninth week. On the ‘Official Album Top 100’ (for the week of May 22nd-28th), the album held its position at No. 26. Its presence was equally prominent across various sub-charts: ‘Scottish Albums’ climbed 10 places to No. 25, while ‘Official Physical Albums’ rose 5 spots to No. 21. ‘ARIRANG’ also secured positions on the ‘Official Album Streaming’ at No. 33 and ‘Official Vinyl Albums’ at No. 31. The title track ‘SWIM’ landed at No. 59 on the ‘Official Singles Top 100’ and reached No. 73 on both ‘Official Singles Downloads’ and ‘Official Singles Sales’.
Across Europe and Oceania, ‘ARIRANG’ continued its impressive run. On Germany’s Official Music Charts (Offizielle Deutsche Charts), the album moved up one spot to No. 5 on the ‘Top 100 Albums’ (as of May 22nd), marking its ninth consecutive week within the ‘Top 10’. France’s SNEP ‘Top Albums’ (for May 15th-21st) saw ‘ARIRANG’ reach No. 10. In Australia, the album charted at No. 12 on the ARIA ‘Top 50 Albums’ (as of May 25th) and notably ascended two places to No. 14 on the ‘Top 20 Vinyl Albums’ chart.
The latest Japanese Oricon Chart (as of May 25th, covering May 11th-17th) also highlighted ‘ARIRANG’s enduring popularity, with the album holding steady at No. 3 on the ‘Weekly Combined Album Ranking’. Furthermore, it climbed three positions to secure No. 4 on the ‘Weekly Digital Album Ranking’, maintaining its strong presence in the upper echelons of the charts.
Looking ahead, BTS is set to attend the prestigious American Music Awards (AMAs) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 25th (local time), where they are nominated for the coveted ‘Artist of the Year’ award. All eyes are on the global superstars as they aim for their second ‘Artist of the Year’ win, following their triumph in 2021. This summer, in July, BTS will further cement their legendary status by co-headlining the 2026 FIFA North America World Cup™ final halftime show alongside iconic pop stars Madonna and Shakira, promising a monumental performance for millions worldwide.
