JYP Entertainment officially announced on Thursday that Stray Kids member Seungmin will be unable to perform at the upcoming The Governors Ball music festival in New York on June 6.
The agency explained that Seungmin, after receiving treatment for persistent pain in his left ankle, was diagnosed with a stress fracture. Due to the medical necessity of avoiding long-haul flights, the popular K-pop idol will regrettably miss the significant U.S. event.
Despite Seungmin’s absence, the globally acclaimed group Stray Kids is still confirmed to take the stage as a headlining artist on the second day of The Governors Ball. The performance will proceed with seven members, ensuring fans an energetic show.
In other news, the eight-member K-pop sensation is expected to release a new album later this summer, building anticipation among their dedicated fanbase.
Stray Kids’ most recent releases include the mixtape “Do It,” launched in November, and the digital single “Star, Light,” which dropped in March to celebrate the group’s eighth anniversary.
