HYBE’s global girl group KATSEYE has secured two prestigious trophies at The Webby Awards, often hailed as the “Oscars of the internet content industry.”
According to their agency HYBE-Geffen Records on the 16th, KATSEYE received a Webby Award (the main prize) at the “30th Webby Awards” for their collaboration with the fashion brand GAP on the “Better in Denim” campaign. Additionally, the group was honored with the “People’s Voice Award” in the Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle, Branded Entertainment Video & Film category, an award determined by public voting.
The Webby Awards, an influential international awards ceremony, has been organized by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences in the United States since 1996. It recognizes websites, social media, apps, podcasts, advertising & PR, AI works, and individuals who have made a significant global impact, celebrating achievements across the entire spectrum of digital culture.
This year’s Webby Awards recipient list includes global icons such as Bad Bunny, Lionel Messi, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, Timothée Chalamet, Justin Bieber, Jimmy Fallon, Alex Warren, and Kendrick Lamar & SZA, alongside KATSEYE. This recognition underscores KATSEYE’s growing prominence not only in music but also as an influential artist across various fields.
Released in August 2025, GAP’s “Better in Denim” campaign stands as a testament to KATSEYE’s significant influence. Featuring KATSEYE, the campaign championed diversity, embracing individual personalities and charms as its core value. The campaign video garnered approximately 8 billion impressions and over 400 million views. Furthermore, related content like member interviews and behind-the-scenes reels received immense positive feedback, inspiring countless derivative contents created by social media users.
In September of that year, GAP CEO Richard Dickson remarked during the Q2 earnings announcement, “People weren’t just watching the advertisements; they were actively participating in the campaign’s message, demonstrating a cultural takeover.” Foreign media also highlighted the campaign as a “hymn to diversity,” focusing on KATSEYE’s identity and direction, which emerged through Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s ‘K-Pop methodology.’
The group’s impact was nothing short of a syndrome-level sensation. KATSEYE ranked 2nd in the ‘Trending Musicians’ category for the U.S. in Google’s “Year in Search 2025” and was listed among the ‘Trending Topic US’ in YouTube’s Annual Report (Global Culture & Trend Report 2025). On TikTok, they were crowned the #1 ‘Global Artist of the Year 2025.’
