Negotiations between Samsung Electronics Co. and its labor union are set to resume, a senior union official confirmed Saturday, following the management’s decision to appoint a new lead negotiator for the crucial discussions.
Choi Seung-ho, the head of Samsung Electronics’ largest labor union, announced in a notice that Vice President Kim Hyung-ro, the previous chief negotiator, will be replaced by Yeo Myung-koo. Yeo currently leads the People Team for the company’s critical Device Solutions division, signaling a fresh approach to labor relations.
While a specific agenda for the upcoming meeting is still being finalized, Choi confirmed that the dialogue between the electronics giant and its union representatives is confirmed to proceed.
