BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) delivered a touching message celebrating Mother’s Day during his final concert in Mexico. Mexico’s Mother’s Day, known as Día de las Madres, is observed annually on May 10th and is one of the most significant holidays in Mexico, deeply rooted in family affection.
V concluded the final performance on May 10th with an ending speech entirely in Spanish. He expressed his gratitude to the fans, saying, “Mexico! I’ve learned a little Spanish. I want to tell you in Spanish how happy I am right now. I missed Mexican ARMYs so much!”

He continued, “Oh, by the way, today is Mother’s Day. Did you celebrate? Call them right now. Via video call… Mama Maria, Mama Teresa, Mama Lupe, Mama Coco! Thank you for raising us. Happy Mother’s Day, mothers!” The venue erupted in cheers at his heartfelt words. The names V called out are common and representative female names in Mexico.
A Mexican fan named Mara shared her emotional reaction on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Today was a really tough day, so I prayed to my mom. Her name is Lupe, and I can’t even describe how much I cried when Taehyung called out that name.”

Local media outlets, including Mexican TV and daily newspapers, also reported on the heartwarming news. The daily newspaper Tabasco Hoy highlighted, “Everyone shone on stage, but the one who dominated social media was V. He surprised everyone with his quite fluent Spanish and dedicated a moving message for Mother’s Day.” The TV program ‘Cuéntamelo Ya’ aired the segment, explaining that V “delivered a touching message to all mothers during the concert.” A related video uploaded to TikTok garnered widespread attention, recording over 8.3 million views and 1.4 million likes.
