K-pop group ZEROBASEONE (ZEROBASEONE, consisting of Sung Hanbin, Kim Jiwoong, Seok Matthew, Kim Taerae, and Park Gunwook) successfully captured the hearts of global fans with their stellar performances.
According to their agency WAKEONE, ZEROBASEONE made a significant appearance at ‘KCON JAPAN 2026,’ held over three days from May 8th to 10th at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, where they enthusiastically met their local fanbase.
Sung Hanbin, selected as KCON’s first-ever global ambassador, showcased his brilliant presence by hosting the main performance of ‘M Countdown’ for all three days. He notably kicked off the spectacular festival with a mega crew performance alongside dancers who appeared on Mnet’s ‘Street Woman Fighter World.’
On the third day, Park Gunwook joined as an MC for ‘M Countdown,’ while ZEROBASEONE took center stage as a headliner, delivering an approximately hour-long special performance.
During their set, the group treated fans to an exclusive pre-release of ‘Customize,’ a track from their upcoming sixth mini-album ‘Ascend-‘ which was also co-composed by Park Gunwook. They further excited the audience with a surprise spoiler film for the new album.
Beyond the main stages, ZEROBASEONE offered a rich array of performances, including captivating unit, solo, and group acts, alongside diverse artist collaborations. Kim Taerae impressed with his unique charm, showcasing a bass performance during his stage with Kim Jaehwan. Meanwhile, Seok Matthew and Park Gunwook delivered a powerful and overwhelming performance with JO1’s Ren and Junki.
Fitting for an event held in Japan, ZEROBASEONE also energized the audience with their Japanese original songs. A highlight was the ‘Dream Stage,’ where they performed ‘YURA YURA’ in its Korean version alongside their devoted fans, creating an unforgettable experience.
ZEROBASEONE’s exceptional fan dedication towards their local supporters also shone brightly. Before their performances, the members visited various areas of the venue, engaging in close interactions with their fans. As the members appeared, the venue became packed with enthusiastic crowds, filling with cheers. Fans warmly responded to their greetings in Japanese, fostering a special connection.
Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE is accelerating preparations for the highly anticipated comeback with their 6th mini-album ‘Ascend-‘, scheduled for release on the 18th.
