Hanwha Aerospace has announced an additional order to supply three **Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher systems** to Estonia. This strategic deal further solidifies Hanwha’s position in the expanding **European defense market**, driven by increasing regional security demands.

The agreement was formalized through a new government-to-government accord established between the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency and the Estonian Center for Defence Investments, acting on behalf of the Estonian Defence Forces.

This latest procurement supplements a significant 290 million euro ($341.2 million) contract signed in December, which covered six **Chunmoo launchers**, comprehensive munitions, and extensive training and operational support. That initial package included CGR-080 guided rockets, CTM-MR missiles, and advanced CTM-290 tactical ballistic missiles.

With this expanded procurement, Estonia is significantly deepening its defense collaboration with Hanwha Aerospace, building upon existing cooperation in **K9 self-propelled howitzer programs**.

The **Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher system** is renowned for its high mobility, mounted on a robust eight-by-eight wheeled platform. It boasts the capability to fire 239-millimeter **guided rockets** with impressive ranges of up to 80 kilometers, alongside **CTM-290 tactical ballistic missiles** that can accurately strike targets up to 290 kilometers away.

Hanwha emphasizes that its robust partnership with Estonia is a testament to the company’s exceptional rapid delivery capabilities, proven product reliability, and unwavering long-term support.

Industry experts highlight Chunmoo’s distinctive strengths, including its **open-platform architecture** and unparalleled **operational flexibility**. Unlike many US and Israeli defense systems, which are subject to ammunition and operational controls by their respective governments, the **Chunmoo system** offers the unique advantage of integrating and operating munitions from multiple countries.

The **Hanwha Aerospace Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher system** has rapidly emerged as a critical **precision-strike platform** among **NATO member states**, securing a series of substantial export deals across Europe, notably in Poland, Norway, and Estonia.

Poland, which stands as Hanwha’s largest customer, has signed contracts valued at approximately 5.6 trillion won ($3.8 billion) and is actively enhancing local production through strategic partnerships with Polish defense firms. From 2029 onwards, guided missiles will be manufactured in Poland, contributing to the establishment of a broader **European defense supply chain**.

In January, Norway opted for the **Chunmoo system** over the US-made HIMARS system in a deal estimated at around 2.8 trillion won, marking a significant breakthrough for the system in the **Nordic region**. Under this agreement, Hanwha is set to deliver 16 launchers and their associated missiles, with deliveries commencing in 2028.

Son Jae-il, CEO and President of Hanwha Aerospace, affirmed, “Building on this considerable momentum, we are committed to further expanding our presence across the **Baltic and Nordic regions** and strengthening our comprehensive land systems portfolio through a vital **strategic partnership with Estonia**.”
