Samsung Electronics, the renowned South Korean tech giant, is significantly bolstering its robotics division, actively expanding staffing for its strategic robotics control tower. This move underscores Samsung’s ambitious plans to aggressively grow its presence in the burgeoning robot business, as revealed by industry sources on Friday.

Driving this expansion, the company’s Device eXperience (DX) division is concluding its internal hiring drive for the newly formed Future Robotics Promotion Team this Friday. This dedicated unit, established late last year, directly follows Samsung’s strategic acquisition of a major stake, making it the largest shareholder in advanced robotics firm Rainbow Robotics.

To effectively attract top talent and clearly articulate its vision, Samsung recently conducted comprehensive briefing sessions for employees. These sessions provided in-depth insights into the Future Robotics Promotion Team’s crucial role and ambitious projects, highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation in robotics.

Currently, this specialized organization is at the forefront of overseeing Samsung’s next-generation robotics initiatives, with a particular focus on groundbreaking projects such as advanced humanoid robot development.

This robust hiring push directly aligns with strategic declarations made during Samsung’s recent first-quarter earnings call. During the call, the tech giant meticulously outlined its comprehensive plans to significantly strengthen and internalize its core robotics capabilities.

Reinforcing this strategic direction, Samsung Electronics CFO Park Soon-cheol stated during the earnings call, “We are actively securing the capabilities to directly develop customized components through the internalization of key robotics parts.” He further elaborated on the company’s roadmap, adding, “We plan to first develop advanced manufacturing robots and subsequently expand our innovation into the critical home and retail sectors.”

A Samsung Electronics official underscored the company’s unwavering commitment, confirming that Samsung is relentlessly continuing to strengthen its robust robotics business. This strategic growth is coupled with an aggressive drive to secure essential talent, crucial for reinforcing its ambitious long-term strategic objectives in the robotics domain.

In parallel with its robotics expansion, Samsung is simultaneously spearheading a significant recruitment drive for critical AI transformation roles. These positions encompass a wide array of expertise, including AI strategy, advanced project management, and cutting-edge software development. This dual talent acquisition strategy highlights Samsung’s aggressive push to rapidly accelerate its complete transition into a leading, AI-focused technology powerhouse.
