Discovering the culinary preferences of international residents and visitors, a recent analysis reveals that diverse Korean delivery food options were highly sought after by foreign users in Korea during March and April. Top favorites included the innovative half-and-half pizza, creamy rose sauce dishes, and uniquely seasoned Korean fried chicken.
This detailed analysis, compiled by local daily Kookmin Ilbo from extensive order data provided by Baemin, South Korea’s leading food delivery platform, highlights key trends. The versatile half-and-half pizza emerged as the undisputed top choice among foreign users. Following closely were delectable rose sauce dishes, and the renowned Bburinkle chicken – a signature Korean fried chicken offering from BHC Chicken, famously coated in a savory cheese powder seasoning.
Beyond these leading items, other popular Korean food delivery choices gaining traction included flavorful dishes prepared with fiery mala sauce, the intensely spicy tteokbokki from the popular Yuptteok brand, and succulent garlic chicken.
While global consumers are familiar with pizza and fried chicken, the analysis underscores how Korean-style variations offer a distinctive experience. These include fried chicken generously dusted with unique powdered seasonings and pizzas cleverly split into two different flavors, showcasing the innovative spirit of Korea’s vibrant delivery food culture.
The growing global appeal of Korean culture, particularly through popular Korean delivery mukbang videos shared extensively overseas, has significantly contributed to driving demand for these unique local culinary experiences. Mukbang, a phenomenon where creators livestream or record themselves eating large quantities of food while engaging with viewers, plays a crucial role in introducing these dishes to an international audience.
The analysis also pointed to a clear preference for menu items that offer variety and allow consumers to savor multiple tastes in one order. This explains the popularity of items like multi-flavor half-and-half pizzas and comprehensive fried chicken sets that often come with various delicious side dishes.
Baemin’s accessibility for its international clientele has seen a remarkable surge following the platform’s decision to accept foreign credit cards in March 2024. The company reported an astounding 370 percent increase in orders placed by foreign users in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous year. Furthermore, the payment volume from foreign users in April was an impressive 14 times higher than that recorded in the same month of 2025.
A Baemin official commented on this exciting trend, stating, “The strong desire from foreign customers to immerse themselves in and experience the unique K-delivery culture is clearly evident through our delivery app. We are committed to continuously enhancing our services to ensure an even more convenient and enjoyable experience for all our international customers.”
