BTS’s Jin once again showcased his brilliant popularity and powerful influence as a solo artist, shining brightly.
On May 2, the official Korean Sales (@koreansales_twt) account announced that Jin has charted for 70 weeks on Billboard Japan Artist 100. This is a monumental record, achieved by only three Korean solo artists, including Jin, in history.
Jin’s second solo mini-album, ‘Echo,’ featuring the title track ‘Don’t Say You Love Me,’ has garnered immense love worldwide. The track hit #1 on the Spotify Global Chart (dated May 25, 2025), making it the first song by an Asian artist to reach the top spot on Spotify’s Global Chart in 2025.
In the history of the Spotify Japan chart, the record for the longest cumulative time at #1 for a K-pop song is held by BTS’s ‘Butter’ (100 days), followed by BTS’s ‘Dynamite’ (84 days). Jin’s ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ secured the third spot with 80 days at #1, marking a new historical achievement where a solo artist stands shoulder-to-shoulder with his group, BTS. This is, of course, the best record among K-pop solo artists.
Furthermore, Jin made history as the only K-pop solo artist to have two songs reach #1 on the Spotify Japan Daily Top Songs chart. Jin and his group BTS are the only Korean artists with multiple songs reaching the top spot on this chart. The title track from Jin’s first mini-album ‘HAPPY,’ titled ‘Running Wild,’ broke BTS’s own ‘Butter’ record, achieving the highest single-day streaming for a K-pop artist on Spotify Japan’s Daily Top Songs chart.
On Oricon’s 2025 annual chart, Jin’s solo album ‘Echo’ ranked 39th, setting a record as the #1 K-pop solo album. This was the only entry by a K-pop solo artist on the chart, further cementing Jin’s unrivaled popularity in Japan.
Jin’s ‘Echo’ also demonstrated overwhelming popularity on Billboard Japan’s 2025 annual ‘Download Albums Chart’ (tracking period: November 25, 2024 – November 23, 2025), securing the highest rank among all K-pop artists, both groups and soloists, at #24.
On Billboard Japan’s 2025 annual ‘Top Album Sales Chart,’ Jin’s ‘Echo’ achieved the top K-pop solo record at #41. Notably, Jin is the first K-pop solo artist to have all his solo releases – one solo single and two albums (from 2022, 2024, and 2025) – enter Billboard Japan’s annual ‘Top Album Sales Chart,’ with each single and album recording the highest K-pop solo album rank in its respective year, thus writing new history.
Jin proved his explosive popularity and influence on February 5, when his solo concert Blu-ray, ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR in JAPAN,’ topped the Oricon Weekly Video Chart. ‘#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR in JAPAN’ captures Jin’s solo concert at the Osaka Kyocera Dome, where he achieved the rare feat of selling out all tickets, including the 8th floor and restricted view seats, for his solo performance in Japan.
According to Billboard Top Boxscores, Jin’s two ‘Run Seokjin Tour’ (#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR) performances at the Osaka Kyocera Dome in Japan on July 12-13 last year generated a total revenue of $9.6 million. This set a new historical record for the highest and largest box score for a K-pop solo artist’s concert schedule at a single venue. It stands as the #1 box score record for a K-pop solo artist of all time, and the second highest among all K-pop artists, including groups.
Most recently, during BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ World Tour in Japan at the Tokyo Dome on April 17 and 18, Jin’s merchandise (pickets) were the first to sell out among all seven BTS members, reinforcing the sentiment that Japan is truly ‘Jinland.’
