Electrifying Performances and Fan Interaction
The colossal stadium was abuzz with energy even before the doors opened. Attendees eagerly practiced wave cheers, building excitement for the grand opening. The setlist kicked off with ‘Hooligan’ from their latest album, ‘ARIRANG,’ followed by explosive renditions of hits like ‘MIC Drop,’ ‘FAKE LOVE,’ and ‘NORMAL.’ The crowd responded with thunderous cheers and powerful sing-alongs. Fans from across the globe united in chanting fanchants, creating a truly communal concert experience. ‘Body to Body’ also made a strong impression in Tampa, the inaugural stop of the North American tour. A poignant moment unfolded as global audiences collectively echoed the “Arirang” folk song phrase seamlessly integrated into the track, highlighting a unique cultural exchange.
The ‘Random Song’ segment, which featured a different track at each concert, also garnered an enthusiastic response. The BTS members spontaneously selected songs based on audience requests and the live atmosphere, ensuring a unique stage for every show. In Tampa, fans were treated to performances of ‘Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)’ and ‘Pied Piper.’ A particularly memorable moment occurred when the intro to ‘Pied Piper,’ a 2017 track highly requested by the audience, began, prompting an explosive roar of approval from the crowd, to which the members responded with an incredible performance, visibly surprised by the passionate reception.
BTS skillfully utilized a 360-degree stage, moving across every corner to connect with and make eye contact with fans throughout the venue. Towards the end of the concert, Jin shared his heartfelt sentiments, stating, “I felt it during the ‘Run Seokjin’ tour, but Tampa is truly the best. I strongly recommended to the members that we absolutely had to come here, carrying that feeling. After this concert, I have no regrets about that decision.” Other members echoed similar feelings: “We were a little worried as it was the first show of our North American tour, but thanks to all of you, all our worries vanished. You’ve made the beginning of this North American leg truly exceptional, and we’re even more excited for the upcoming performances.” They concluded with sincere messages like, “We truly love you and missed you so much. Jungkook Addresses Sound Glitch During “Magic Shop” Performance
However, the May 25th concert was not without a minor hiccup. A noticeable sound system malfunction occurred during the performance of ‘Magic Shop.’ The issue was particularly evident during Jungkook’s part, where an overly tuned audio output made it sound distinctly different from his usual voice, sparking some controversy among fans. Swiftly addressing the problem, Jungkook performed ‘Magic Shop’ a cappella once more after the main stage, showcasing his professionalism and commitment to his fans.
Following the May 25th show, Jungkook personally took to his SNS to acknowledge the issue, stating, “The ‘Magic Shop’ sound issue is correct. No worries. We’ll fix it better starting today,” assuring fans of improvements for future performances. He also extended an apology to the dedicated ARMYs who attended the concert, adding, “ARMYs who came to yesterday’s concert, I’m sorry,” and candidly expressed his frustration, “I’m angry too.”
