Discover where Seoul’s top CEOs choose to live, revealing prime luxury residential areas.
A recent analysis by corporate data tracker CEO Score reveals that 640 of South Korea’s chief executives predominantly reside in select high-end apartment complexes across Seoul. This study highlights a significant concentration of top business leaders in the affluent districts of Gangnam and Yongsan.
As of April, the most sought-after address for these elite professionals is The H Firstier I-Park in Gaepo-dong, southern Seoul, home to 11 CEOs. Notably, Samsung Electronics President Roh Tae-moon is among its distinguished residents.
Following closely, Nine One Hannam, an ultra-luxury development in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, secures the second spot, accommodating eight CEOs. Other prestigious addresses include Raemian Prestige in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, and Hannam The Hill in Hannam-dong, each home to five top executives. Notably, outside the capital, Pangyo Prugio Grandble in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, stands out as the only non-Seoul complex among the elite residences, housing four executives.
Interestingly, several foreign CEOs were found to be registered at prominent luxury hotels, such as Josun Palace Seoul Gangnam, Grand Mercure Ambassador, and Novotel Ambassador Seoul Gangnam.
The comprehensive survey, analyzing the registered home addresses of 640 corporate leaders, revealed that a significant 67 percent of CEOs reside within Seoul itself. When extending the scope to include the surrounding Gyeonggi Province and Incheon, the concentration in the greater capital area surges to an impressive 91.6 percent.
Within Seoul’s districts, Gangnam-gu emerges as the prime hub for CEO residences, hosting 107 executives—nearly a quarter of the total 429 Seoul-based CEOs. Seocho-gu ranks second with 73, followed by Yongsan-gu with 56, and Songpa-gu with 36, solidifying these areas as top choices for Seoul’s business elite.
Conversely, only a small fraction, 54 CEOs (8.4 percent), chose to reside outside the capital region. Among non-capital cities, Busan leads with 11 executives, followed by South Gyeongsang and Ulsan, each home to seven. South and North Jeolla provinces each house five CEOs, while North Gyeongsang and Daegu accommodate four executives apiece, according to the report.
