SK hynix has been honored with the prestigious Corporate Innovation Award at the 2026 IEEE Honors Ceremony in New York. This marks the first time the company has received this accolade, recognizing its significant contributions to the global artificial intelligence (AI) computing ecosystem.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional organization, is dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE presents awards across three categories, celebrating advancements in technological innovation and societal progress.
Established in 1986, the IEEE Corporate Innovation Award is bestowed upon companies that have demonstrated exceptional contributions to industry and society through pioneering technologies. SK hynix’s receipt of this honor underscores its leading position in the technology sector.
“It is an honor to receive this award on behalf of our employees, who have tirelessly challenged the limits of technology,” stated Ahn Hyun, President and Chief Development Officer at SK hynix, during the New York ceremony.
Ahn added, “By collaborating closely with our global customers and partners, we will stay ahead in creating the value the market demands and continue to be a premier company leading AI innovation.”
The company highlighted that the award specifically acknowledges its consistent success in the stable mass production of multiple generations of high bandwidth memory (HBM). This achievement has been pivotal in fueling the rapid expansion of the global AI computing ecosystem.
Furthermore, SK hynix stated that the award reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with major global tech firms in the U.S. This aligns with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won’s long-term vision to continually enhance technological competitiveness and drive innovation.
