The global phenomenon BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) is set to embark on their highly anticipated North American tour, kicking off in Tampa.
BTS will open their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN NORTH AMERICA’ at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, USA, on April 25-26 and 28 (local time). The group is scheduled for a total of 31 performances across 12 North American cities, including El Paso, Mexico City, and New York.
This marks BTS’s return to the US concert stage after approximately four years, following ‘BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE’ held in Las Vegas in April 2022. Amid overwhelming anticipation, tickets for all scheduled shows rapidly sold out, prompting the addition of extra performances in Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas.
Tampa, as the inaugural city for the North American tour, has embraced BTS’s first full-group visit by immersing the entire city in a festive atmosphere. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor shared a video of the old city hall bathed in purple light on her personal social media, further announcing that city bridges would also be illuminated in purple from the 25th to the 29th.
The City of Tampa has also announced detailed road control plans near the concert venue to manage the expected concentration of visitors and facilitate the setup of large booths for official BTS merchandise sales. Adding to the celebratory mood, Tampa International Airport has displayed welcoming messages in its main terminal, greeting fans right from the city’s gateway.
Local broadcasters have also prepared special programming for the event. FOX 13 Tampa Bay will air ‘K-Pop: The Seoul Reach.’ on April 25th and 26th. This program will offer an in-depth look at the global impact of K-Pop, spearheaded by BTS, exploring how Korean culture has permeated Florida, and highlighting the powerful presence of their fandom, ARMY.
Furthermore, 10 Tampa Bay News, another local broadcaster, has estimated that these concerts will inject approximately $800-900 million (equivalent to about 1.2-1.3 trillion KRW) into the Tampa region, promising a significant economic ripple effect on the local economy.
Following their Tampa dates, BTS will continue their North American tour at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso on May 2-3. This concert will mark a historic moment as the first solo performance by a Korean artist at the venue, setting yet another milestone in the global music industry for BTS.
