**K-Pop Idol’s Brother Arrested on Sexual Assault Charges Against Internet Broadcaster; Domestic Violence Allegations Emerge**
A man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A and known to be a family member of a famous K-pop girl group member, has been arrested by police on suspicion of attempted sexual assault against a female internet broadcaster (BJ). Major broadcasting stations have since launched in-depth investigations into the unfolding scandal.
According to a recent report by Channel A, Mr. A was arrested on April 14th in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He is accused of having drinks with internet broadcaster BJ B at a restaurant, then taking her to his home and subjecting her to sexual assault. Notably, it was revealed that Mr. A had purchased a “meal date ticket” from Ms. B just two days prior to the alleged incident.
Ms. B reportedly claims that she agreed to go to Mr. A’s home only after he explicitly promised “no sexual contact.” However, she alleges that he later changed his demeanor and attempted sexual assault. Feeling threatened during the encounter, Ms. B is said to have fled to the bathroom and urgently sought help from an acquaintance.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly admitted to physical contact, but partially denied the charges, stating, “Even if I touched her, calling it sexual assault is absurd,” thereby implying a lack of coercion or intent to commit assault.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office ultimately rejected the arrest warrant requested for Mr. A, citing insufficient evidence to substantiate the charges at this stage.
Amidst these developments, the controversy surrounding Mr. A has escalated further with allegations of domestic violence from Ms. C, who claims to be his ex-wife. Ms. C asserted that “beating and severe verbal abuse began just two weeks after we registered our marriage,” additionally claiming instances of illegal filming and other cruel acts.
She detailed coercive acts beyond verbal abuse, stating, “I was caught recording the verbal abuse, got beaten, and almost waterboarded,” and that “When I expressed my desire for a divorce or mentioned reporting his actions, he hit me more.” To support her claims, Ms. C publicly disclosed emergency medical records from a university hospital.
However, Ms. C, while mentioning her sister-in-law who is a K-pop girl group member, made a plea: “He committed the wrongdoings, but please do not blame his family members.” While the veracity of these additional claims has not yet been independently confirmed, they have led to widespread speculation targeting specific K-pop girl group members online.
Meanwhile, the investigative current affairs program ‘Gunggeumhan Iyagi Y’ on SBS has also launched an in-depth investigation into Mr. A’s case. On April 18th, the program posted on its official social media, stating, “We are awaiting tips from those who know well about the brother of a famous celebrity, who is accused of sexually assaulting a female internet broadcaster (BJ).”
