K-pop sensation Tomorrow X Together (TXT) has made their highly anticipated comeback with a more introspective release, unveiling their eighth EP, “7th Year: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns.” This latest record is deeply shaped by themes of reflection, uncertainty, and quiet resolve, marking a significant artistic evolution for the acclaimed boy band.
During a recent media showcase, the beloved quintet — comprising Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai — officially introduced the new album. They highlighted it as their first major project since successfully renewing their contracts with Big Hit Music, framing the EP as a crucial moment for the TXT members to pause and deeply reflect rather than simply push forward in their careers.
“It feels different, coming back with a new album after renewing our contracts,” shared leader Soobin, reflecting on the group’s journey. “There’s something more meaningful about this release; it holds a special significance for us.”
Instead of relying on a fictional narrative, the K-pop group chose to center this latest EP on their own authentic experiences. The album powerfully reflects the emotional weight of their seven-year journey in the industry, including anxieties about their future, the often-present gap between expectations and reality, and the profound uncertainty they navigated ahead of their contract renewal.
“We wanted to talk about what we’ve actually been feeling over the past seven years through this album,” explained Taehyun about the group’s candid approach. “There were times when reality didn’t match what we imagined, and that’s something we wanted to express honestly and openly.”
Beomgyu added that these profound emotions were not unique to the members of Tomorrow X Together.
“No matter what kind of work you do, there are always moments where you question what you’re doing and what comes next,” he noted. “We tried to capture those universal feelings through our own unique story within this new project.”
The album’s powerful lead track, “Stick With You,” carries that deep emotional thread into a more intimate space. Built around the poignant desire to hold onto a relationship that is nearing its end, the song masterfully captures a sense of lingering attachment — a notable departure from the group’s earlier youth-centered narratives and a sign of their maturing artistry.
“It’s about wanting to hold onto a love even when you know it’s ending,” Soobin elaborated on the song’s theme. “There’s something a bit pathetic but also very real about that feeling, and we wanted to show that vulnerable side of ourselves through the music.”
Beomgyu further noted that the song’s emotional core also directly reflects the group’s collective mindset toward their cherished career.
“The desperation inherent in the song connects directly to our own desire to keep holding onto our dreams and continually moving forward as a team,” he passionately explained.

As this reflective album aimed to share some of TXT’s most personal stories, the members were intimately involved in shaping the album’s overall direction, contributing innovative ideas drawn directly from their own honest conversations and life experiences.
Taehyun explained that the meticulous production process required careful and ongoing discussion with their dedicated creative team at Big Hit Music.
“We had a lot of conversations about what kind of stories we could authentically tell at this significant point in our careers,” he recalled. “We wanted to tell that story through our own unique lens, and we wanted to make it feel more real and relatable, not exaggerated or overly dramatized.”
This deeply personal and authentic approach also extended directly to their performances. For instance, the captivating choreography for “Stick With You” featured distinctive tutting movements that vividly emphasized the passage of time, with repeated hand gestures visually echoing the song’s central motif of wanting to prolong each precious day. The innovative idea behind this choreography originated from Yeonjun, who played a key role in developing it from its early stages.
Behind this introspective mindset, however, lies a stronger and more reassuring sense of stability for the group. The TXT members revealed that the decision to renew their contracts was reached swiftly, with very little internal disagreement or deliberation, underscoring their unity.
Looking back on their remarkable seven-year journey, the members described significant growth not only in their individual skills and collective artistry but also in their profound understanding and appreciation of one another.
“We’ve learned how to truly fill in each other’s gaps and complement one another,” Taehyun proudly stated. “That kind of deep teamwork is what’s changed the most within Tomorrow X Together since our debut.”
As they confidently move forward from the contract renewal, Taehyun added that their fundamental priorities have thoughtfully shifted.
“Of course, results and achievements still matter, but what’s most important to us now is staying healthy, cherishing our well-being, and truly enjoying the entire process,” he said, before adding with a hopeful smile, “But if we had to name a specific goal — we’d absolutely love to reach No. 1 on Billboard.”
Yeonjun passionately echoed that sentiment, emphasizing long-term longevity and happiness over short-term achievements for the K-pop group.
“My biggest wish for Tomorrow X Together is for this team to last as long as humanly possible,” he expressed. “I want us to continue promoting together happily and healthily for many years to come.”
