The beloved members of K-pop boy group 2PM are set to reunite and gather to celebrate the marriage of fellow member Ok Taecyeon.
According to Star News on the 23rd, 2PM members Lee Junho, Jun.K, Nichkhun, Jang Wooyoung, and Hwang Chansung will attend Ok Taecyeon’s wedding, taking place on the 24th at a private location in Seoul. The group plans to perform a special congratulatory song for the happy couple. Having shared a long journey together since their JYP Entertainment trainee days and their debut in 2008, the members are eager to support Ok Taecyeon’s significant new chapter with their heartfelt performance.
Interestingly, Ok Taecyeon himself once expressed his desire for 2PM members to sing at his wedding. Back in 2013, during a magazine interview conducted before the release of his film ‘Marriage Blue,’ he named his bandmates as the artists he hoped would grace his special day with a congratulatory performance.
Fellow member Hwang Chansung, who tied the knot in 2022, recently shared his support during an interview for the Netflix series ‘Bloodhounds 2’. He stated, “If Taecyeon hyung asks for any marriage life tips, I’ll answer wholeheartedly.” Lee Junho also conveyed his sincere congratulations in an interview late last year after wrapping up the tvN weekend drama ‘Typhoon Company,’ emphasizing, “The 2PM members are like family to each other.”
Beyond the wedding celebration, 2PM, who have largely focused on individual activities, are recently reuniting to prepare for a grand series of Tokyo Dome concerts in Japan. These highly anticipated performances, scheduled for May 9th and 10th, will be a special full-group solo concert featuring all six members, commemorating their 15th anniversary since their Japanese debut. This marks their first local concert in approximately 2 years and 7 months since their show at Tokyo Ariake Arena in October 2023. Even more significant, this full-group performance at Tokyo Dome will be their first in 10 years, since before the members’ military enlistments began in 2016, promising an unforgettable event for Hottest (2PM’s fandom name).
Ok Taecyeon personally announced his marriage to his non-celebrity fiancée last November. He shared the joyful news through a heartfelt handwritten letter, stating, “I have promised to spend my life with someone who has understood and trusted me for a long time.” He added, “We will be a steadfast presence for each other and continue our lives together.” The wedding ceremony will be a private affair, attended exclusively by family members from both sides and close acquaintances, respecting the privacy of his partner.
