The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AmCham Korea) has proudly launched K-Doorknock, a strategic new initiative designed to significantly enhance the business and investment footprint of Korean companies within the United States market.

This pioneering program debuts as an integral part of AmCham’s highly anticipated annual Washington Doorknock mission, a pivotal four-day event taking place in Washington D.C. from Sunday through Wednesday.

Washington Doorknock stands as AmCham’s flagship annual advocacy program, bringing together influential business leaders, key US policymakers, and leading thought leaders. Its primary objective is to facilitate crucial discussions on vital issues shaping the dynamic US-Korea economic relationship. This year’s mission is particularly significant as it forms part of the “Freedom 250” initiative, commemorating the 250th anniversary of US independence while celebrating the enduring strength of the US-Korea alliance.

K-Doorknock specifically adds a dedicated and unique platform, empowering Korean companies to engage directly with top US policymakers and influential business leaders as they strategically expand their presence in the robust US market.

Led by AmCham Chair and CEO James Kim, the inaugural K-Doorknock delegation features a distinguished lineup of senior executives. Participants from Korea include prominent firms such as Dunamu, Hangang Asset Management, HKI America, Hyundai Motor Group, LG Group, and SoluM. The delegation will also be joined by executives from global corporations like Bayer, Corning, Kim & Chang, Novelis, and Pfizer, who are participating in the broader Washington Doorknock program, further amplifying the discussions.

Throughout the intensive four-day mission, delegates are scheduled for high-level meetings with senior White House officials and representatives from critical US government entities. These include the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR), the Department of Commerce, the Department of State, and the National Security Council. The extensive agenda also encompasses significant engagements with bipartisan members of Congress, notably leaders of the influential Congressional Korea Caucus and key congressional committees, alongside the US Chamber of Commerce, leading think tanks, and respected policy experts.

Central to these discussions will be strategic priorities focused on strengthening bilateral investment flows, advancing crucial regulatory cooperation, promoting innovation across sectors, and ultimately deepening the robust US-Korea economic partnership.

“We eagerly anticipate engaging with our partners in Washington to collaboratively advance practical solutions. These initiatives aim to strengthen competitiveness, foster significant investment, and create expansive new opportunities for sustainable growth in both the United States and Korea,” AmCham Chair Kim affirmed.
