The Korea Exchange (KRX) significantly advanced its efforts to attract leading global biotech companies to Korea’s dynamic capital market by hosting a crucial investor outreach event. This strategic gathering took place on Tuesday at the prestigious BIO International Convention 2026 in San Diego.

Recognized as the world’s largest biotechnology exhibition, the BIO International Convention annually draws approximately 20,000 participants from 72 countries, underscoring its importance for global industry engagement and innovation.

Co-hosted in partnership with Invest Seoul, the successful event provided around 150 biotech executives and industry officials with comprehensive insights into the Kosdaq listing process specifically tailored for foreign companies. Key initial public offering (IPO) requirements and strategic pathways were meticulously outlined.

A highlight of the program was an insightful panel discussion featuring leading IPO specialists from prominent firms including Samsung Securities, Eugene Investment & Securities, Korea Investment Partners, law firm Yulchon, and Samil PwC. These experts elucidated the significant advantages of listing on Kosdaq and presented compelling case studies of foreign companies that have achieved successful public listings on the market.

Further demonstrating its commitment, the Korea Exchange conducted targeted one-on-one consultations with promising U.S. biotech companies. During these sessions, the unique benefits of Kosdaq’s special technology listing program were thoroughly explained. This innovative program empowers technologically competitive firms to go public, prioritizing their advanced technology and innovation over traditional profitability metrics.

Min Kyung-wook, Vice Chairman of the Korea Exchange, affirmed the institution’s ongoing dedication, stating, “The Korea Exchange is resolutely committed to continuously promoting Kosdaq globally and actively encouraging more foreign companies to explore and achieve successful listings in Korea.”
