Former Enhypen member Evan is officially launching his highly anticipated solo career with the digital single ‘Ride or Die,’ set to be released on June 22. Belift Lab confirmed the exciting news on Thursday, marking a significant new chapter for the K-pop artist.
Evan’s debut solo single, ‘Ride or Die,’ will feature two distinct tracks, showcasing his versatile artistry. Listeners can expect a captivating blend of sharp and bold sounds alongside more calm and sophisticated melodies.
Demonstrating his comprehensive artistic vision, Evan actively participated in every aspect of his solo debut. This includes writing the melody and lyrics for both tracks, as well as producing and directing the accompanying visuals, all designed to authentically convey his unique identity as a solo artist, the agency added.
Before embarking on his solo journey, Evan was known as an original member of the seven-member K-pop group Enhypen, debuting in 2020. During his time with the popular boy band, he contributed to notable tracks, co-writing ‘Highway 1009’ from their third LP, ‘Romance: Untold,’ and ‘Sleep Tight’ from their seventh EP, ‘The Sin: Vanish.’
Evan’s transition to a solo career began in March when he departed from Enhypen. This significant move also saw him adopt the stage name Evan, evolving from his previous name, Heeseung, as he forges his new path in the K-pop industry.
