Red Velvet is gearing up for a highly anticipated August comeback, with a new album confirmed by local media reports on Thursday. K-pop fans are already buzzing with excitement for this significant return.
This exciting announcement marks their first full group comeback in over two years, following the success of their acclaimed EP “Cosmic.” The “Cosmic” mini-album, which celebrated their decadelong career, impressively topped the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 50 regions worldwide. Its title track was even recognized as one of NME’s “25 Best K-pop Songs in 2024,” highlighting the group’s continued impact.
Notably, the upcoming album will be the first all-member project since individual members Wendy and Yeri departed SM Entertainment to join new agencies for their solo pursuits, making this group effort even more significant.
Outside of Red Velvet’s group activities, the members have been actively pursuing solo endeavors. Wendy notably released her third solo EP, “Cerulean Verge,” last year, while Yeri has broadened her career with various acting roles in both film and television.
Meanwhile, Irene is currently captivating fans on her inaugural solo Asia tour, “I-Will,” with an upcoming performance scheduled for June 20 in Macao.
