LX Hausys, a leading architectural material supplier, announced Thursday its premium acrylic solid surface material, HIMACS, has been utilized for the exterior wall installation at Reading railway station in Berkshire, England. This project marks another significant step in the company’s strategic expansion into prestigious landmark architecture globally.
HIMACS has consistently gained global recognition, seeing increasing adoption in high-profile buildings and public facilities worldwide, solidifying its status as a premium architectural material. Notable past projects featuring HIMACS include iconic structures such as Shanghai Disneyland, Porsche exhibition halls in Germany, the Brooklyn Museum, and major international hubs like Frankfurt, Naples, and Charles de Gaulle airports.
A key advantage of LX Hausys’ HIMACS is its exceptional design flexibility. Unlike natural stone, HIMACS empowers designers to create intricate curved and seamless surfaces, opening new possibilities for flexible and three-dimensional architectural visions. Furthermore, specific HIMACS product lines offer translucency, allowing for innovative integration with lighting to craft stunning artistic installations and illuminate spaces uniquely.
The striking Reading Station project was a collaborative effort with renowned British architectural designer Stuart Melrose. Utilizing LX Hausys’ specialized HIMACS Lucent product, Melrose ingeniously crafted a magnificent large backlit mural, seamlessly integrated with LED lighting, adorning the station’s exterior wall. This captivating installation has garnered significant acclaim for its masterful reinterpretation of the region’s rich historical identity through a distinctly modern design aesthetic.
Further solidifying this partnership, Stuart Melrose recently visited Korea to tour LX Hausys’ impressive flagship showroom, state-of-the-art production lines at its Cheongju plant, and the innovative CX Design Center.
Following his insightful visit, Melrose expressed profound admiration for the exceptional durability and seamless installation capabilities of LX Hausys’ advanced artificial marble products.
Melrose further articulated his vision, stating, “I hope to expand future collaborations using LX Hausys materials with strong durability and practicality, including interior films, wall coverings, and flooring materials, in addition to artificial marble.”
An LX Hausys official affirmed the company’s commitment to sustained growth, stating that LX Hausys plans to continue forging partnerships with globally recognized designers and to strategically expand its marketing efforts, particularly those linked to landmark architecture projects. This initiative aims to significantly increase the global market share of its premium acrylic solid surface materials.
