Lotte Biologics has further cemented its strategic alliance with UK biotech firm Ottimo Pharma by signing an expanded contract manufacturing agreement for antibody drugs. This new deal signifies a significant expansion of their existing partnership in biopharmaceutical production.
Under the terms of this latest agreement, Lotte Biologics will be responsible for producing the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for Jankistomig, Ottimo Pharma’s innovative biparatopic antibody candidate. This critical manufacturing will take place at Lotte Biologics’ state-of-the-art Syracuse Bio Campus located in New York, USA.
The agreement builds upon a successful antibody development partnership initially established in June of last year. It clearly reflects Ottimo Pharma’s strong and continued confidence in Lotte Biologics’ advanced manufacturing capabilities and robust development expertise.
Lotte Biologics highlighted that this deepening collaboration extends beyond mere contract manufacturing. It now encompasses broader development and commercialization cooperation, thereby fortifying the long-term strategic ties between the two innovative biopharmaceutical companies.
As a dedicated Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), Lotte Biologics offers comprehensive, integrated development and manufacturing services. These services are primarily operated from its sophisticated Syracuse Bio Campus in the United States, providing end-to-end solutions for its clients.
Further enhancing its global footprint, Lotte Biologics is actively progressing its “dual-site strategy.” The company plans to complete Plant 1 at its Songdo Bio Campus in Incheon, South Korea, later this year. This strategic expansion will establish a robust biomanufacturing network spanning both North America and Asia, significantly boosting its global CDMO capacity and reach.
“We are committed to supporting Ottimo Pharma’s successful drug development based on our proven capabilities as an integrated CDMO,” stated James Park. “We aim to support the full lifecycle of our clients’ pipelines, reinforcing our position as a competitive and reliable global partner in the biologics industry.”
Spencer Fisk, representing Ottimo Pharma, commented that Lotte Biologics had consistently demonstrated “exceptional partnership, quality, and execution” throughout their previous work, particularly during Ottimo Pharma’s Phase 1/2a study.
