Game developer Nexon’s overseas sales surge across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia
Leading game developer Nexon has reported its highest quarterly earnings ever for the January-March period this year, driven by the outstanding global success of its MapleStory franchise and the new title ARC Raiders across key markets including North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The company made this landmark announcement on Thursday.
According to Nexon’s official statement, the gaming giant achieved impressive financial results, logging 1.42 trillion won in sales, 542.6 billion won in operating profit, and 533.8 billion won in net profit. These figures represent significant year-on-year increases of 34 percent, 40 percent, and an astounding 118 percent, respectively, for the same period last year.
This remarkable growth was primarily fueled by the strong global performance of the MapleStory franchise, particularly its new international titles MapleStory: Idle RPG and MapleStory Worlds, which successfully attracted a massive influx of new users abroad. Furthermore, ARC Raiders contributed significantly to this success, selling an impressive 16 million copies within just six months of its launch in October last year. These factors collectively propelled Nexon’s global sales to increase by 59 percent year-on-year.
Highlighting its successful international market penetration, the Korean game developer experienced an extraordinary fourfold increase in sales across North America and Europe, while sales in Southeast Asia and other regions doubled during the first three months of the year. Consequently, Nexon’s global sales proportion reached 62 percent, marking a substantial 10 percentage point rise from the first quarter of the previous year.
Beyond successful game launches, Nexon is strategically reinforcing its long-term stability and expanding its market reach through key publishing agreements with global partners. The company announced a long-term domestic publishing agreement with Electronic Arts for the popular FC franchise in Korea. Additionally, Nexon extended its crucial Chinese publishing partnership for the PC version of Dungeon & Fighter with Tencent by an entire decade, securing its presence in one of the world’s largest gaming markets.
“We were able to achieve outstanding results in the first quarter, thanks to the global triumphs of the MapleStory franchise and ARC Raiders,” stated Nexon CEO Lee Jung-hun. He added, “Based on stronger strategic partnerships and a robust pipeline of highly anticipated new titles, we are committed to securing sustainable long-term growth while further enhancing our profitability and global competitiveness through the innovative initiatives presented at CMB 2026.”
