Hyundai Rotem is significantly bolstering its presence in Eastern Europe’s expanding defense sector by actively participating in the Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security (BSDA) exhibition, held in Bucharest, Romania. This strategic involvement underscores the company’s intensified push into this crucial regional market.

Running from May 13-15, BSDA stands as the premier defense exhibition across Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region. This year marks Hyundai Rotem’s second strategic appearance at the prestigious event since 2024, demonstrating their sustained commitment to the region.

Emphasizing the theme “Romania’s Partner in Readiness,” Hyundai Rotem aims to firmly establish itself as a vital, long-term strategic partner dedicated to strengthening Romania’s national defense and security capabilities.

Visitors to the exhibition will witness Hyundai Rotem’s cutting-edge unmanned defense technologies. The display includes the highly versatile HR-Sherpa multipurpose unmanned vehicle, advanced robotic firefighting systems, and agile quadrupedal unmanned robots, showcasing their innovation in autonomous solutions.

Further demonstrating their autonomous systems capabilities, Hyundai Rotem is conducting dynamic live demonstrations. These include sophisticated anti-drone defense operations, complex coordinated missions between the HR-Sherpa and quadrupedal robots, and autonomous fire-support missions, illustrating the practical applications of their advanced robotics.

Reflecting its collaborative approach, Hyundai Rotem’s booth also features a dedicated co-exhibition space. This area highlights partner companies critical to the development and production of both cutting-edge rail systems and advanced unmanned vehicles, fostering a strong industry ecosystem.

Beyond unmanned systems, Hyundai Rotem is actively promoting its formidable core defense lineup. This includes the acclaimed K2 tank, a cornerstone of modern armored warfare, alongside a comprehensive range of other advanced ground weapons systems, directly addressing the significant and rising demand for land defense equipment across Eastern Europe.

Hyundai Rotem is also showcasing its unique integrated solutions through a broader package business strategy, seamlessly combining its expertise in defense, advanced rail systems, and innovative hydrogen technologies. The display features impressive high-speed trains, such as the EMU-370 and KTX Cheongryong, presented alongside a miniature model that brilliantly illustrates the company’s forward-thinking hydrogen solutions.

A Hyundai Rotem official affirmed, “This exhibition serves as a crucial platform to prominently showcase our advanced unmanned technologies and to proactively meet the evolving demands of the global defense market.”
