GM Korea reported strong performance in April, with total vehicle sales reaching 47,760 units, a notable 14.7 percent increase compared to the previous year. This significant growth was primarily driven by substantial overseas demand for its acclaimed compact sport utility vehicles.
Domestic sales in April remained at 811 units, while exports proved to be the cornerstone of its performance, accounting for the substantial majority of deliveries at 46,949 units.
The remarkable surge in overseas shipments was spearheaded by two flagship compact SUV models: the Chevrolet Trax Crossover, which saw a 12.7 percent year-on-year increase to 31,239 units, and the dynamic Chevrolet Trailblazer, experiencing an even greater jump of 24.7 percent to 15,710 units.
These two highly successful Chevrolet models, the Trax Crossover and Trailblazer, have been instrumental in solidifying GM Korea’s reputation as a leading global production hub for compact SUVs. Their combined cumulative sales have now impressively exceeded 2 million units worldwide.
Demonstrating their strong market appeal, the Chevrolet Trax Crossover and Trailblazer achieved combined sales of 422,792 units in the highly competitive US market during 2025, successfully capturing approximately 43 percent of the entire compact SUV segment.
Further underscoring its market dominance, the Chevrolet Trax Crossover has consistently held its prestigious position as Korea’s top passenger car export model for an impressive three consecutive years, from 2023 through 2025.
To ensure continued momentum and customer satisfaction, GM Korea announced it will be implementing attractive promotional programs throughout May. These initiatives will offer compelling cash incentives and fuel subsidies for customers purchasing the popular Chevrolet Trax Crossover and Chevrolet Trailblazer models.
