Marking its 10th anniversary, **South Korea’s premier homegrown app marketplace, One Store**, announced a significant transformation on Thursday, evolving into an **”all-in-one store” platform**. This strategic shift will seamlessly integrate **app downloads, versatile payment solutions, and instant-play games**, offering users a comprehensive digital experience on a single, unified platform.

“The **global app market** is currently undergoing an era of profound change and upheaval,” stated **CEO Park Tae-young** during a press conference held in Seoul. He highlighted the pivotal role of Korea’s revised Telecommunications Business Act, which “became the starting signal for global legislation targeting app markets.” Park also noted that “courts in the US, Japan, and the EU are progressively moving towards allowing **external payments**,” indicating a worldwide trend towards greater flexibility in digital transactions.

Moving beyond its established function as an **app download platform**, One Store is set to launch **One Web Shop**. This innovative **direct-to-consumer payment service** empowers **developers** to directly sell **digital content** to users via **web-based channels**. Crucially, for **game developers**, One Web Shop significantly reduces the complexity of creating separate game versions for various **app marketplaces**. Instead, they can effortlessly integrate a **web shop** directly within their games, leveraging One Store’s robust, existing **payment integration system**.

**Payments processed through One Web Shop** will benefit from a highly competitive total fee of just **8 percent**, which includes all necessary payment gateway charges. “Historically, **app markets and web shops** have been viewed as distinct, often competing, channels,” Park explained. “With the introduction of One Web Shop, One Store is committed to making these two powerful channels complement each other, creating a more integrated and efficient ecosystem for developers and users alike.”

Further enhancing its diverse offerings, the company also unveiled **One Play Game**. This exciting service allows users to enjoy **casual games instantly**, eliminating the need for any downloads or installations. Following a successful pilot program, One Play Game is slated for its official launch next month, promising immediate access to engaging gaming experiences.

Founded in 2016 as a strategic joint venture involving South Korea’s three major mobile carriers—SK Telecom, KT Corp., and LG Uplus—alongside Naver, One Store has achieved remarkable milestones over the past decade. It boasts an impressive record of **8 trillion won ($5.38 billion) in cumulative transactions** and a staggering **7.4 billion downloads**, solidifying its position as a dominant player in the regional market.

In a pioneering move within the industry, One Store made headlines in 2018 by significantly cutting its **in-app payment commission** from 30 percent to an industry-leading **20 percent**. This developer-first initiative has resulted in substantial cost reductions, saving **developers and users a combined 1.2 trillion won** to date.

“While the past 10 years saw One Store establish itself as **Korea’s leading local app marketplace** through bold fee reductions and innovative services,” Park elaborated, “the next decade will be dedicated to further **expanding the role of the app market** and actively **leading transformative change** across the digital ecosystem.” Looking ahead, One Store aims to achieve **2 trillion won in transaction volume by 2030**. This ambitious goal is coupled with a commitment to providing developers with **cumulative benefits totaling 1 trillion won**, a figure that includes significant commission savings facilitated by One Web Shop.
