HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) and LIG D&A have made a significant stride onto the global stage, becoming the first Korean companies to co-host a dedicated booth at Sea Air Space 2026. This premier maritime security exhibition in the U.S. is currently underway in Washington through Tuesday, drawing international attention.

Kicking off on Sunday, the joint exhibition booth, spanning an impressive 150 square meters, showcases the formidable capabilities of HD HHI and LIG D&A. The event is anticipated to attract approximately 16,000 visitors, with participation from 430 security companies representing 57 countries, highlighting its immense scale and global importance.

Visitors to the booth will discover a comprehensive display of advanced naval solutions. This includes state-of-the-art Aegis destroyers, alongside an array of cutting-edge Korean-developed naval vessels such as frigates, next-generation warships, robust logistics support ships, and sophisticated submarines.

Positioning itself as a key partner in the evolving maritime defense strategy of the U.S. Navy, HD HHI is showcasing its unparalleled shipbuilding expertise and groundbreaking advanced unmanned systems technologies. The company’s presence at Sea Air Space 2026 underscores its commitment to innovation in naval defense.

Notably, HD HHI emphasizes its role as a vital global partner, offering comprehensive solutions for the U.S. Navy’s fleet expansion initiatives. Furthermore, the company is a frontrunner in facilitating the seamless transition towards advanced manned-unmanned hybrid combat systems, setting new benchmarks in naval warfare capabilities.

Beyond its U.S. engagement, HD HHI is also poised to play a crucial role in the Malaysian Navy’s mid-to-long-term fleet reorganization plan. The company is confirmed to participate in Defense Services Asia (DSA) 2026, Southeast Asia’s largest security exhibition, scheduled to take place from Monday to Thursday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

At DSA 2026, HD HHI will present multi-role support ships specifically optimized for extensive amphibious operations and critical disaster relief efforts. The display will also feature a range of other advanced platforms, including agile coastal mission ships, versatile offshore patrol vessels, multi-purpose frigates, and export-ready submarines, demonstrating its diverse product portfolio.

“As a leading innovator in the Korean maritime defense industry, HD HHI is dedicated to forging new pathways and establishing pivotal opportunities in the global warship export market,” affirmed Joo Won-ho, head of HD HHI’s naval and special ship business unit.
