Korean Air announced Thursday the grand completion of significant upgrades to its First Class Lounge and Prestige West Lounge at Incheon Airport Terminal 2. These enhancements are designed to elevate passenger comfort and luxury services, strategically aligning with the airline’s upcoming merger with Asiana Airlines.

The extensive revamp showcases a remarkable expansion in both physical space and seating capacity, promising unparalleled experiences through enhanced food, beverage selections, and premium amenities. Korean Air’s commitment to excellence is underscored by a substantial 110 billion won ($74.9 million) investment, meticulously deployed over the past three and a half years for this ambitious airport renewal project.

The newly unveiled First Class Lounge, strategically situated on the fourth floor opposite Gate 250, is set to commence official operations at 6 a.m. Friday. Spanning an impressive 921 square meters, its floor space more than doubles the previous lounge’s footprint. Designed for ultimate exclusivity, the First Class Lounge boasts a grand open hall alongside 11 meticulously crafted private suites, ensuring passengers are escorted to their individual retreats for a truly bespoke “home away from home” experience.

Embracing a sophisticated blend of tradition and modernity, Korean Air highlights that the First Class Lounge’s design elements are profoundly inspired by traditional Korean aesthetics. This commitment extends to the culinary experience, featuring dedicated staff providing expertly curated, customized meals, complemented by an exquisite selection of premium wines, fine whiskies, and artisanal craft beers.

The expansive Prestige West Lounge, conveniently located on the fourth floor opposite Gates 248 and 249, officially opened its doors at 4 a.m. Thursday. Addressing Korean Air’s strategic imperative to enhance passenger flow and comfort, this impressive lounge spans 2,615 square meters of floor space, accommodating approximately 420 seats. It proudly stands as the largest single lounge at Incheon Airport, strategically positioned to seamlessly manage increased passenger volumes following the successful merger with Asiana Airlines.

Passengers at the Prestige West Lounge can indulge in a wide array of premium amenities, including a lavish buffet, dynamic live cooking stations, and a fully staffed bar. For business travelers, a dedicated work area provides convenience, while luxurious shower booths offer refreshment. Notably, expert chefs from the Grand Hyatt Incheon prepare exquisite dishes on-site, with menus thoughtfully rotating quarterly to showcase the finest seasonal ingredients.

These significant upgrades to the First Class and Prestige West Lounges elevate Korean Air’s total lounge offering at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2. Across its five distinct lounges, the airline now boasts an impressive 1,566 seats, marking a substantial increase from the previous capacity of 898, ensuring more passengers can enjoy premium comfort.

Looking ahead, Korean Air reaffirms its commitment to enhancing the customer experience by announcing plans for phased renovations across its lounge network at major airports, both domestically and internationally. Future upgrades are slated for key hubs such as Gimpo International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, promising continuous advancements in premium customer services globally.
